Velocity Smart Technology aims to revolutionise self-service IT support to enterprises by fully integrating its lockers with ServiceNow for streamlined asset request and delivery services. Velocity expects the integration of its lockers and ServiceNow to transform IT support by enabling a 24/7 ‘click and collect’ tech replacement self-service for businesses that has the potential to cut IT support costs, delivery times and worker downtime. Analysis of the first deployments of the ServiceNow Smart Collect app show that, in most cases, enterprise users collected requested items in less than one hour, compared to an industry average of three days.
NEC Display Solutions Europe has introduced two ranges of Direct View LED screens for displaying high-resolution, dynamic content in the brightest environments. Supplied as bundled solutions with screen sizes from 110 inches, NEC’s FE Series of bezel-free displays features internal-only cabling, front access for maintenance and can be wall-mounted, free-standing or used in video walls. NEC’s LED A Series digital poster is an ultra-slim, lightweight display for mobile signage and wayfinding applications. With ‘plug-and-play’ operation and an integrated media player, it is an ideal replacement for roll-up banners.

Canon’s first desktop scanner with USB, wired and wireless connectivity, the imageFORMULA DR-S150 is a flexible, compact solution for personal or shared use in customer-facing environments and corporate, branch and home offices. With one-touch scanning for pre-configured jobs, throughput of 90 images per minute and the ability to ‘push scan’ to an output destination (without a PC connection), the DR-S150 helps streamline business workflows. Useful features include an automatic document feeder and the ability to scan passports and plastic ID cards.
Schneider Electric is to deploy Scale Computing’s HC3 Edge virtualisation platform for retail within its EcoStruxure Micro Data Centres. The preintegrated solution gives retail locations a complete IT infrastructure within a secure, standalone enclosure for improved uptime and resiliency and protection of critical retail business applications, including point of sale, building management, security applications, inventory management and asset management. The ability to connect web browsers to remote systems and manage them from a single management interface enables retailers to manage storage and virtual machines without onsite IT support and monitoring.
Quiet as a cucumber
The Panasonic PT-MZ16K is the world’s first laser LCD projector to feature a liquid cooling system, making it Panasonic’s quietest projector, with a noise level of just 38dB in normal mode. Features include WUXGA resolution; brightness from 10,000 to 16,000 lumens (depending on model); a Triple Drive Engine with automatic switching to a secondary back-up input of choice in case of a signal failure; a small LED display next to the input ports to aid set-up and trouble-shooting; a washable ECO filter that lasts for up to 20,000 hours; and the ability to accept 4K/60p input from DIGITAL LINK and HDMI. business.
Free Dash licence
Lifesize has enhanced its cloud-based Dash meeting room software to make it easier and cheaper for customers to extend Lifesize video collaboration throughout their organisation. Enhancements include a free meeting room licensing model that Lifesize claims could save organisations up to £800 per room per year, compared to alternatives like Zoom Rooms; a tablet app that can be used for camera control, calendar views, one-touch join for active meetings and access to collaboration features; and compatibility with existing meeting room hardware. Each free Dash licence allows organisations to register one meeting room to the Lifesize cloud service for video calls with up to 25 participants.
Raising the bar
Poly has unveiled two all-in-one video bars purpose-built to run Microsoft Teams natively. Designed for small huddle rooms and requiring a single PoE cable, the Poly Studio X30 and Poly Studio X50 feature a 4K HD camera with speaker tracking and framing, advanced noise suppression and the Poly TC8 touch screen controller. Poly is also bringing out native Teams phones, speakerphones and managed services for Teams, encompassing migration strategies, endpoint and licence provisioning, deployment, training and change management.
