Toshiba is hosting a series of networking events in London where business leaders can meet, learn about the latest trends and best practice, and network with their peers over breakfast. The next event on the 15th August will cover essential cybersecurity for businesses. It will take place at the Toshiba offices in The Monument Building, City of London (close to Monument and Bank underground stations).
Cybersecurity has become critical for all businesses in the post-trust era. Consumers are increasingly concerned about potential hacks and data breaches as leaks can cost a business dearly, with the average cost of data breaches estimated at £2.8 million.[i]
The August event will share Toshiba’s expertise in reducing the likelihood of a cyber-attack and complying with legislation and client compliance. It will cover the concerns that all business leaders must be aware of, the need for having a Cyber Essentials Certification and how to build customer trust.
The Cyber Essentials Certification reassures customers that their data is secured by best practice and cutting-edge tools, and that an organisation cares about cybersecurity and has significantly reduced the chances of a breach. It’s a mandatory requirement for any business looking to work on central Government contracts and is often requested by FTSE 100 companies. Attaining the Certification can increase new business, build trust with existing customers and ensure the robustness of cybersecurity practices.
Toshiba offers two Cyber Essentials assessments: Cyber Essentials that incorporate a self-assessment questionnaire verified by a Toshiba IT Services Consultant, usually within 48 hours. Cyber Essentials Plus involves a technical audit of a company‘s network and computers. It will require a site visit so that an assessor can test a random sample of a company‘s systems – providing a higher level of assurance that they are complying with the Cyber Essentials Scheme.
As well as a discussion led by Toshiba’s expert IT team, the August event will invite business leaders to share their experiences in cybersecurity.
Toshiba’s breakfast events are aimed at business leaders wanting to get ahead in digital technologies and challenges. Leaders from local businesses in London can meet at Toshiba’s offices on the third Thursday of every month, from 8am to 9.30am.
