Almost two thirds of SMEs are working towards significantly changing their IT structure in the next two years, according to a survey by Jabra, as 40% plan to add Unified Communications (UC) functionalities to their existing voice telecom infrastructure and an additional 20% plan to replace traditional systems with full UC systems.
As SMEs look to grow, access to the right UC technologies provides staff with more flexible, efficient and productive ways of working, especially those who spend a significant amount of time on the phone. The research found that 36% of these call-centric workers think there are too many interruptions from colleagues throughout the day, and 34% find noise levels in their working environment too distracting.
The right UC tools, such as advanced wireless headsets which offer crisp-sounding calls and noise-cancelling capabilities, make it easier for these employees to concentrate and two-thirds of SMEs are already moving towards a more headset-centric voice platform. Wireless headsets also free employees from the confines of their workstation, enabling staff to be hands free and carry out other tasks whilst on the phone, improving overall productivity.
