The Philips PicoPix PPX4935 projector is clear proof that good things really do come in small packages.
The PicoPix PPX4935 is a versatile, pocket-sized projector designed for all-round performance in business, education/training and the home. Compact but powerful, it is ideal for displaying PowerPoint and Excel fies, as well as video games, YouTube videos and streamed movies and TV.
Thanks to its SmartEngine projection system and LED technology, the PicoPix PPX4935 produces high defiition images that combine good brightness, with excellent contrast and colour quality, even at the maximum image size of 150 inches (diagonal). The LED light source is designed to last for up to 30,000 hours, which equates to three and a half years of constant use.
Unlike some pocket projectors, the PPX4935 is a genuine businessclass device, with an integrated Office Viewer that lets you show PowerPoint presentations and Word, Excel and PDF fies in their original format. It supports HD (720p) images and has a brightness of up to 350 lumens.
You might need a little shade to achieve optium image and colour quality, but generally this level of brightness is remarkable from a device measuring just 150 x 150 x 105mm and weighing 351g. Another of the PPX4935’s strengths is its very quiet operation.
The projector is easy to operate via a touchpad that works in the same way as a conventional mouse – you hover over the function you need and tap to action. You can also control it remotely via an app (available on the Apple store and Google Play Store), which also supports voice recognition.
The PPX4935 comes with an internal battery providing up to two hours of wireless use – a great feature for mobile workers who need to make presentations on the go. The integrated multimedia player’s 4GB memory means that you don’t even need to connect another device to make a presentation; you can just play a pre-loaded PowerPoint or video demo. You can also access content stored on a memory card via the built-in Micro SD card reader.
Should you want to connect a laptop, tablet or smartphone, there is a choice of connectivity options including HDMI/ MHL and USB ports (the USB port can also be used to charge mobile devices – another mobile worker-friendly feature). In addition, a wireless Screen-Mirroring function (supported by Windows, Android and iOS) lets you project photos and video directly from your computer, smartphone or tablet without the need for cables.
The 3 watt speaker provides excellent sound quality for business presentations.
For extra volume, you can easily connect external wireless speakers via Bluetooth. Overall, the Philips PicoPix PX4935 is the perfect accessory for mobile workers who require an on-the-fl presentation capability and the option to make ad hoc presentations in the office. It even comes with a convenient carry case for the projector and accessories.
