Ricoh Scores Another Innovation Award

Ricoh Graphic Communications team scooped its second award in as many weeks, after winning the Service Development category at yesterday’s Stationers’ Innovation Excellence Awards.

The Stationers’ Innovation Excellence Awards are held by the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers – the City of London’s livery company for the communications and content industries. Held annually at the Stationers’ Hall, the purpose of the event is to celebrate innovation, creativity, and excellence, and to offer its members the opportunity to share best practices. Worth £70 billion, the communications and content sectors play a key role in the UK economy, and comprise of printing, publishing, paper manufacturing and supply, packaging, newspaper making, journalism, script writing, writing, performing, broadcasting, and online media.

Similarly to the More2 Direct Commerce Awards, Ricoh’s entry was centred around the business transformation of its Graphic Communications division, the evolution of its approach to focus on consultancy and long-term value for its print customers, with a particular focus on the newly launched printer performance data software RICOH Supervisor™.

Samantha Precious, Strategy and Services Development Manager at Ricoh Graphic Communications, delivered a presentation to share Ricoh’s best practices with the Stationers’ Company members and guests on the day: ‘We pride ourselves on working closely with our customers, and as such, we saw very early on that their needs were shifting. Shorter print runs, combined with a need for multi-channel communications and hyper-personalisation have created a new capacity for digital print. We recognised that to provide top-quality service to customers, our mindset needed to evolve from customer service to post-sale client care to customer acquisition and success; all of which need a clear focus on customer outcomes. As such, winning this award would not have been possible without our people, the service and client success teams.
