Cancellation of Mobile World Congress 2020, the flagship event for the smartphone industry, due to concerns about the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19, follows a number of no shows at February’s ISE 2020 AV exhibition in Amsterdam for the same reason. These are important events for the mobile communications and AV industries, where ground-breaking products get their first airing, important relationships are forged and new deals brokered. Despite the many alternatives to face-to-face contact, including the video calls and conferencing systems offered by supporters of MWC 2020 and ISE 2020, people still like to meet in person. A handshake is still the best way to bring people together – and people continue to travel half-way across the globe for that reason.
MWC 2020 and ISE 2020 are especially vulnerable to global health scares because they are internationally significant. Fortunately, the same can’t be said of the PA Show, taking place in ExCeL, London on February 25-26. Once again, Business Info will be exhibiting at the event and handing out a goody bag filled with useful items of stationery, including pens, Post-it Notes and recyclable and recycled notepads, envelopes and office paper. Turn to page 6 of the Pen To Paper section bound into this issue for more details. Or, If you are reading this at the show, just drop by our stand to pick up your samples.
Also bound into this issue is the Editor’s Choice Awards Special, featuring some of the dozens of products that were awarded an Editor’s Choice award in Business Info, ManagedIT, PrintIT Reseller and Technology Reseller in 2019. On page 3 of the supplement, we are inviting you to nominate your top product of last year and, perhaps more importantly, the suppliers and vendors that you were most impressed with in 2019 – for whatever reason.
