Microsoft Surface Duo: When two is better than one

Unveiled last August, Microsoft’s first dual-screen device, the Surface Duo, is due to be launched early this year. The combination of two screens and enhanced Microsoft 365 apps is claimed to deliver new levels of mobile productivity, such as the ability to view Outlook Mail and Calendar side-by-side or view colleagues and a presentation simultaneously.

Third party apps have also been optimised to work with Surface Duo, including Amazon Kindle, which lets you read an e-book like a printed book across the device’s two distinct screens, and TikTok, which lets you see videos on one screen while exploring relevant hashtags, trends etc., on the other.
