Integrated Systems Europe 2018 (ISE), the world’s largest trade show for the professional AV and electronic systems industry, took place on February 6-9 in Amsterdam. As always, there was much to see. Here are some highlights
Bright and clear
NEC Display Solutions Europe unveiled its latest range of 4K/UHD large format displays. The MultiSync P and V Series are available in four sizes from 65 to 98 inches and feature High Dynamic Range (HDR) capabilities for a rich, lifelike viewing experience in all lighting conditions. The P Series has a brightness output of 700 cd/m2, ideal for bright conditions, while the V Series has a brightness of 500 cd/ m2 for normal light levels. The displays feature the latest anti-reﬂective surface coatings and can be installed in portrait, landscape or table mode.
Panasonic made a number of announcements at ISE. In addition to several new projectors, it unveiled the six-strong EQ1 series of 4K professional displays for shopping centres, showrooms, meeting rooms and classrooms. The displays range in size from 43 to 86 inches and feature an integrated USB media player.
Global education technology company Promethean made its ISE debut this year as part of a campaign to grow its channel partner network. Promethean showcased its hardware and software suite at the show, including ActivPanel interactive displays, ActivInspire interaction and collaboration software and ClassFlow lesson delivery software. Powered by an external Android-based Mini PC, ActivPanel displays with InGlass technology deliver an easy-touse tablet-like experience and automatically distinguish between pen, touch and palm erase input. The ActivPanel is available in 65, 70, 75 and 86-inch screen sizes.
Modular digital signage solution
Advantech was showcasing the DS-200 modular signage solution for all-in-one applications. The DS-200 is based on the Intel SDM specification and is powered by 8th Gen Intel Core processors. It measures just 175 x 100 x 20mm and delivers 4K UHD output and smooth content streaming via a card edge connector. It boasts high-energy efficiency of 45 watts.
ClearOne expanded its ceiling microphone line-up with the ClearOne Ceiling Microphone Array Analog X. Like all ClearOne Ceiling Microphone Arrays, it features three wide-range microphones mounted together into a single array. In this way, it provides the rich sound of three individual uni-directional microphones plus full 360-degree coverage. Useful features include numbered mic elements for easy identification, an LED indicator for On/Off/Mute and the ability to daisy chain up to four arrays in a 12 microphone system. The ClearOne Ceiling Microphone Array Analog X can be installed anywhere from 0 to 7 feet from the ceiling.
Avocor chose ISE to announce that it will be offering Avocor displays preinstalled with conferencing software from Zoom Video Communications. Designed to run on large touch displays, Zoom Rooms for Touch features wireless content sharing and high-quality video and audio conferencing for up to 500 interactive video participants. The bundles will be available in a choice of sizes and prices to suit each customer’s needs.
Superior sound processing
HARMAN Professional Solutions introduced the BSS DCP-555 Digital Conferencing Processor, an intelligent audio solution designed for web and audio conferencing in meeting rooms. The DCP-555 provides industry-leading sound processing, acoustic echo cancellation and automated mixing of microphones, PC audio and other audio sources.
Vivitek, sharing a stand with Delta Display Solutions, demonstrated its brightest single-chip DLP laser projector, the DU9800Z. This solid-state illumination source projector provides 18,000 ANSI Lumens, native WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution and 20,000 hours of operation.
