Kitty Hawk, a company backed by Google co-founder Larry Page, has unveiled an electric flying taxi called Cora. Cora is a self-flying aircraft that can take off vertically like a helicopter and transition to flying like a plane. As such, it has the potential to take off from rooftops and transport people across cities. Kitty Hawk is restricted by flying regulations in the USA, but is working with the government of New Zealand to bring Cora to market.

The bag itself is suited to a range of everyday needs, starting off as a messenger-style workbag, for example, and then expanding into a sack-style bag to hold groceries. Panasonic has introduced an integrated mobile point-of-sale solution for its Toughpad FZ-G1 tablet. Wrapping around the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 tablet, the device holder allows the tablet to be used with a mobile payment solution, such as the Ingenico iSMP4 or Verifone e355. The Ingenico payment device connects to the tablet via USB, with dual charging of both devices, while the Verifone device connects by Bluetooth and is charged separately.

Sony’s new SL-E series external solid-state drive (SSD) is small enough to put in your pocket but powerful enough for safe, high-speed data transfer. It has up to 960GB of storage and is equipped with compact and reversible USB Type-C ports for connection to all the latest mobile technology, as well as standard-A cables. With no moving parts inside, there is less chance of a mechanical breakdown.

Humanscale has launched a task chair made from recycled fishing nets. The Smart Ocean Task Chair incorporates almost 1kg of recycled fishing net material from Bureo’s Net Positiva recycling program, which provides incentives to coastal communities to recycle plastic fishing nets.

KYOCERA Document Solutions has expanded its economical ECOSYS printer portfolio with three new A4 colour printers (the ECOSYS P7240cdn/P6235cdn/P6230cdn) and four A4 colour MFPs (the ECOSYS M6635cidn/M6235cidn/M6630cidn/M6230cidn). The new devices offer 1200dpi colour quality and are also designed to improve office productivity, with print speeds of 30-40 pages per minute, an improved time to frst copy and new dual scanning capabilities.
