Develop makes mobile working simple

The biggest driver for sales in the MFP market is the need to address new mobile working patterns. Increasingly this means that mobile workers want to be free from the need to return to a desktop PC for printing or scanning jobs, allowing web pages, PDFs or photos to be printed straight from their mobile device to save time and inconvenience. An important market indicator was the revelation by Ofcom in August 2015 that 33% of UK workforce opted for smartphones as their device of choice to connect to the internet in 2014, ahead of 30% who preferred laptops.


The new range of Develop ineo MFPs deliver this functionality with NFC (Near Field Communication) for pairing, authentication, touch to print, and touch to scan. These new ineo multifunctionals can support mobile and cloud printing via AirPrint (iOS), Mopria (Android 4.4 or higher), Google Cloud Print and WiFi direct. This allows documents, photos, web pages or PDFs to be printed straight from an OS or Android smartphone or tablet via a WLAN network.

Popular Cloud Services such as Google Apps, Evernote and Microsoft SharePoint are part and parcel of this mobile work scenario. Develop can easily demonstrate to customers how simply we can ‘connect’ to this cloud world. Using the web browser installed in the ineo device, customers can gain access to our connector shop named dstore to easily download the connector of choice directly to the MFP.

More highly featured mobile device support is also simple thanks to Develop’s award winning ineoPRINT app. It’s free to download for both Android and iOS mobile operating systems for easy connection to the MFP by the simple scanning of a QR code app directly from the MFP touchscreen. With ineoPRINT installed, users can simply tap their phone or tablet on the NFC Tag area located on the ineo MFP control panel to connect (iOS requires Bluetooth option installed in the MFP). They can connect with as many devices as they like and then select one as their default or favourite.

Users are also demanding workflow solutions which streamline document processing. Develop has some excellent document management software (DMS) solutions that are unique to the brand. Although SMEs have long been aware of the potential benefits, the cost of investing in a DMS and associated training has often been prohibitively expensive. Many of the available solutions have also been unnecessarily complex for SME application. The Develop range of software solutions has however been specifically engineered for use by SMEs, and is offered at a more competitive price point than previously available.

Typical is Develop’s convert+share software which eliminates manual document processes, allowing original documents in a variety of formats to be scanned on a Develop MFP and automatically converted to many different file types including searchable PDF, xlsx or .docx files. The documents can then be sent straight from the devices to a number of destinations. The latest version of convert+share includes many cloud-based archiving systems. For example .docx documents can be scanned and sent directly from the MFP to applications such as email, Dropbox, Google Docs, Evernote or sent to Microsoft SharePoint.

Operation is simple using an ineo MFP touchscreen which supports functions such as drag & flick and allows users to finger-swipe their way through the menu, while pop-ups ensure users will not get lost in any submenus. Since the full-colour display is as big as a tablet PC, it is easy to read, clearly arranged and allows users to see all the functions they need in one go.
