James Gould, a second year BA (Hons) Interior Design student at the University of South Wales (USW), has won a design competition run by the BBC and supported by furniture manufacturer Bisley. Entrants were asked to create innovative pieces of furniture for the ID:SR-designed interiors at the new BBC Wales Broadcast Centre. Gould designed a modular storage system that can flex to the specific requirements of the user while on a three week work placement at Bisley’s head offices in Newport. Bisley will now manufacture the design, which could be developed for wider commercial use, with Gould retaining the copyright.
